The Rosedale School is a special campus in Austin ISD that serves students with significant disabilities, ages 3-22. Rosedale has been serving this special population since 1984.

The Rosedale School serves three groups of students:

1- Students with significant medical needs.
2- Students with social/behavioral needs.
3- Students ages 18-21 in a transition-focused program.

The Rosedale School provides specialized instruction for students in the areas of Life Skills, communication and preparation for a meaningful life after graduation.

Students at Rosedale require specialized technology, transportation and recreation opportunities to realize their full potential. The Rosedale PTA and the Rosedale Foundation fundraise for this unique campus each year to support these needs and to create a free prom for every Rosedale student and their family members.

A new building for The Rosedale School was a part of the 2017 Austin ISD Bond Election passed by the Austin community. The school is scheduled to move to its new location in Fall 2021. The new building will be designed to meet students’ needs and to provide a therapeutic environment that will promote student success.
